Bowl
March 25, 2010
Item no 6 is a rather unassumingly decribed “bowl”:

You can see it here
Amazingly the photos with this item are even more unassuming, making it difficult to gather many conclusions from it, except the obvious – that it is a Chinese bowl of octagonal form, with a celadon type glaze to the inside of the bowl.
Now I’m not sure how old this bowl is from those photos. It could hopefully be 18th Century, it might be 19th Century, and hopefully not 20th Century, but I’m sure that whatever of those things it might be, it’s going to make more than the £1.99 + £2 postage that it cost me!
It’s amazing that anything with some age, and no damage could cost so little, so I do think that this is avery astute buy.
The decoration of roosters or cockerals is quite appealing, and if it does turn out to be 18th Century then it should be worth a good £90+, as a 19th Century bowl £40+, and as a 20th Century bowl hopefully £15.
Be sure to keep looking to see how it does in auction once it arrives here!
