Sold – Bow Tureen

April 27, 2010

The Bow tureen sold and made quite a good profit!

I paid £180 for this in total and it made £297 on eBay, which after costs leaves £256.70 which is a profit of £76.70 – yipee!

Sold – Antique Pearlware Cup

April 27, 2010

The antique pearlware cup or mug has sold, and unfortunately it made a loss – drat!

It went for £22.43, which after costs leaves me with £19.20, a loss of £14.65.

Lets hope the rest do better!

Sold – Longton Hall Tea Bowl

April 12, 2010

The longton Hall tea bowl has sold for a great £256, giving a fantastic profit on the £11.09p that it cost!

The buyer is sending a cheque, so the total profit after costs is a very chunky £219.31

Unfortunately the pearlware cup didn’t get a bid, so that will go into round 3.

Sold – Part Coffee Set

April 7, 2010

The 6 coffee cups and saucers and spare teabowl that were bought with the 18th century creamer at a cost of £14.40 have sold at a wholloping £77 before costs producing a very respectable (and very welcome) profit after costs of £51.58p!

A greta result – if only the other items in round 1 had managed to do the same!

Keep watching to see what happens in round 2!

Sold – 18th Century Creamer

April 7, 2010

Hoorah! The 18th Century Creamer has produced a fantastic result ending at £84.59 compared to the price of £14.41 that I paid for it (well to be fair it was £28.81 for the creamer and 6 coffee cups and saucers, but since they’ve been auctioned seperately I’ve split the cost between the 2 – that seems fair).

This has resulted in a profit after costs of : £58.14p!

Not bad from an outlay of £14.41!

Sold – Antique Chinese Bowl

April 6, 2010

The 3rd item from the first batch of antiques, the Octagonal Antique Chinese Bowl has managed to sell, and amazingly at a cost of just £3.99 it has also managed to make me a loss!!

After costs this made a loss of £2.01.

It got 3 bids in the end but only managed to get to a lowly £2.20, so that’s 2 losses from my first 3 items – not a brilliant start, but at least I know that my final 2 lots (the 18th Century Creamer and it’s corresponding cups and saucers) will definitely make a profit since thet’re £70 up already and still have 16 hours to go – so these may be my saving grace!

Keep watching to see what happens!

Sold – Caughley Tea Caddy

April 6, 2010

My second item from round 1 has now sold! It was also a piece of Caughley, it was the Caughley tea caddy, but couldn’t have been in greater contrast, making a profit before costs of £52 having finished at £137 against the £85 that was paid for it.

The profit after costs comes to £38.30 (the buyer paid by cheque).

Sold – Caughley Plate

April 6, 2010

Well, the first antique sold, the Caughley plate, and as you might have predicted in true Bargain Hunt style it made a whopping great loss – I bought it for £69 and it made a measley £43.22, a quite measley amount for a 230 year old piece of porcelain in perfect condition.

That’s £26 down before taking off the eBay and paypal costs, which when added in bring it to a total loss of £32.82.
